Your role
As a Development Engineer for Cooker Hoods you take the initiative in the development of functional technology for cooking fume extraction. Most of the time, you participate in multidisciplinary development teams in pre-development and development projects. You explore new ideas using laboratory test setups and theoretical models such as CFD. You work closely with other colleagues to achieve results.
Tasks
Together with your project team, you create a list of requirements, for which your contribution is focused on the requirements of the functional components such as filters and fan systems. You provide a theoretical foundation and you carry out tests to investigate the feasibility of new technologies and designs of appliances. With the design team you take care of the construction of prototypes, and you consult with our suppliers about this. You design measurement setups and possibly perform simulations using a CFD package.
Together with colleagues you ensure that the final products meet our quality demands, applicable standards, regulations and validation plans and you are involved in optimizing the prototypes into a product that is ready for series production.
You ensure proper reporting of the tests carried out and the design process and you monitor the progress of the agreements made.

Als Development Engineer Afzuigtechniek neem je het initiatief bij de ontwikkeling van functionele technologie voor kookdampafzuiging. Je werkt veelal samen in een multidisciplinair ontwikkelteam in pre-development én development projecten. Je onderzoekt nieuwe ideeën met behulp van testopstellingen in het laboratorium en theoretische modellen zoals CFD. Je werkt intensief samen met andere engineers om tot resultaat te komen.
Taken
Samen met je projectteam stel je het eisenpakket samen, waarbij jouw bijdrage gericht is op de eisen van de functionele componenten zoals filters en ventilatorsystemen. Je zorgt voor een theoretische onderbouwing en je voert testen uit om de haalbaarheid te onderzoeken. Met het ontwerpteam zorg je voor de bouw van prototypes, en je voert hierover overleg met onze leveranciers. Je ontwerpt meetopstellingen en voert eventueel simulaties uit met behulp van een CFD-pakket.
Samen met collega’s zorg je ervoor dat de uiteindelijke producten voldoen aan onze kwaliteitseisen, de geldende normen, voorschriften en validatieplannen en je bent betrokken bij het optimaliseren van de prototypes tot een product dat gereed is voor serieproductie.
Vanzelfsprekend zorg je voor een goede verslaglegging van de uitgevoerde testen en het ontwerpproces en bewaak je de voortgang van de gemaakte afspraken.
